Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has officially released the detailed notification for the engagement of Apprentices for the 2025-26 cycle specifically for the Western Region-I covering Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. This recruitment drive aims to induct promising and energetic candidates for a one-year apprenticeship duration across various technical trades including Graduate Electrical, Graduate Civil, Diploma Electrical, Diploma Civil, and ITI Electrician. As per the official guidelines, candidates must understand the selection process and the merit-based criteria which serve as the primary evaluation standard. Unlike traditional recruitment, the selection for POWERGRID Apprentices does not involve a written examination or a personal interview. Instead, the organization utilizes a transparent merit-based system derived from the final marks obtained by the candidates in their respective qualifying degrees or diplomas. Successfully verified candidates who are found medically fit according to the Apprentice Act 1961 will then be placed on the Final Selection List. The final merit list will be uploaded on the official website, and selected apprentices will be required to sign a tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS or NAPS portals to formalize their engagement. To prepare for a successful career as an apprentice, candidates should focus on their core technical subjects as the one-year training will involve practical application of the knowledge gained during their formal education. For Electrical trade candidates, topics such as Power Systems, Electrical Machines, and Transmission lines are vital. For Civil trade candidates, Surveying, Construction Management, and Structural Analysis will be relevant. Since there is no written test, the 'Syllabus' for this engagement refers to the comprehensive academic curriculum of the respective trade.
